Geraghty opts to ride More Of That rather than Cause Of Causes

Barry Geraghty was a frustrated spectator during the Cheltenham Festival, with a fall on Charli Parcs causing him enough injury to see him miss the prestigious meeting although the Irishman is back for Aintree.

Geraghty has thought long and hard about which horse to ride in the 2017 Grand National and has plumped for More Of That, with the experienced jockey having decided against riding Cause Of Causes.

More Of That has shortened significantly off the back of Geraghty’s decision, with bet365 now going 12/1 although the same bookmaker go the same price about Cause Of Causes.

Jamie Codd will take this particular ride, having steered Cause Of Causes to victory in the Cross Country Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, with Geraghty apparently opting against taking this ride because the horse is on the small side.

“Barry is set to ride More Of That, with Jamie ready to ride Cause Of Causes, though Barry is obviously waiting until the end to see if anything should change,” Frank Berry, McManus’ racing manager, told the Irish Independent.
